Story

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a terminal lung disease that kills 5,000 people in the UK every year and it is estimated that more than 30,000 people in the UK are affected. The condition is characterised by a build-up of scar tissue in the lungs leading to shortness of breath and eventual respiratory failure.

We want to help those who are suffering with this devastating disease.

Can you support us this Christmas? We support patients and their families to give them hope and improve their quality of life. We also fund research; this year we announced The Mike Bray IPF Research Fellowship - a £300,000 grant that will be awarded over three years to an outstanding research project, which enhances understanding of the causes of IPF or advances treatments.

We don't want any person affected by pulmonary fibrosis to feel that they are alone, especially at Christmas.

You can make a difference by donating to Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis during this festive period. We are so grateful for your continued support and generosity. Click here to read personal stories from people affected by pulmonary fibrosis on our website.

Please use the hashtag #PassItOn4PF  once you have donated! You can tag friends and family to ask them to give what they can. Follow us on Twitter.com/actionPFcharity and on Facebook.com/actionpulmonaryfibrosis.
