The Archdiocese of Cardiff works to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to the people of South East Wales and Herefordshire. The diocese is a Metropolitan See within the Roman Catholic Church. The Diocese undertakes its work in its parishes, schools, and by caring for the vulnerable.

Story

In July 2016 Pope Francis and approximately 2,000,000 youth from around the world will gather in Krakow, Poland to celebrate World Youth Day (WYD).  We are sending a group of 50 youth and helpers to join the celebration and represent the people of South East Wales and Herefordshire.

The group will spend two weeks in Poland to gain the full WYD experience, setting off on July 17th 2016 for Bialystok in the North.  There we will spend time in a local parish engaging with the youth, sampling local culture, visiting local charities and projects, and deepening our faith through shared catechesis and prayer.

On July 25th 2016 we travel from Bialystok to Krakow for the main WYD events.  We will stop on the way to pay our respects at the Auschwitz Birkenau Museum, remembering the history of the former Concentration Camp, and praying for those who lost their lives.
