Over the last two years, council run children’s centres throughout Oxfordshire have been closed down - leaving many parents and children in dire need of childcare provision and family services. 

"Flo’s - The Place in the Park" is a success story of a community coming together to campaign for this much loved place at the heart of the community in beautiful Florence Park to be re-opened.  

Flo’s will provide a flexibly priced community café, community midwife services, a children’s nature nursery and a community drop-in space. As we prepare for the imminent opening of Flo’s, we are looking for supporters who will help us open Flo’s doors, so that it can become a welcoming and inclusive space to meet, work, play, learn, eat and foster people's connection to nature.  

With our planned opening in May 2018, we are launching two opportunities to be involved:  

· Donate to Flo’s Ignition Fund 

· Invest through our community share offer  

Flo’s Ignition Fund: 

Our ‘Ignition Fund’ will raise £10,000 for essential refurbishments and start up activities. It will enable us to refurbish the community drop in space within the centre - a free area for families to use during the day and for the great variety of community groups of Florence Park to host events in the evenings.      

£32 could pay for a pot of paint to get us started on redecorating  

£95 could pay some soft play equipment 

£280 could pay for a fridge, dishwasher or other appliance  

£350 could pay for a set of tables and 5 chairs

Becoming a shareholder is a way to get involved in Flo’s future from the very beginning. Later this Spring you will have an opportunity to invest in community shares in Flo’s - The place in the Park, and become a part of this fantastic community owned project.
