Story

The Andrew Simpson Foundation is delighted to announce it's second annual Bike4Bart Charity cycle ride for 2019!

Building on the success of 2018’s inaugural Bike4Bart event, the Andrew Simpson Foundation are bringing this next cyclosportive to Portsmouth. Held at the charity’s watersports centre based on Eastern Road, Portsmouth, Bike4Bart will take place on Saturday 27th April and aims to help increase participation in sport and promote health and wellbeing to all.

New for this year is our Bike4Bart Watersports Festival, combining sport, water activities and music! The event has attracted support from several new event partners including, Maverick Race, Let’s Do This, Event Trac and Frog Bikes. PKF Francis Clark have also pledged their support for the event for a second year.

Bike4Bart also helps to help raise awareness of the amazing work that is currently carried out by the Andrew Simpson Foundation around the world, and to raise funds, enabling the Foundation to continue delivering on its mission of improving the lives of young people through sailing. The ride will head out to the Meon Valley on road routes of varying distances and terrains! The event also boasts a Water-sports festival offering free water-based activities, in addition to music and activities for all the family to enjoy.

“We’re thrilled to bring this incredible event to Portsmouth in 2019 and supported by the local community and Partners across the UK, we can ensure access to a wide range of activities and entertainment for all: Funds raised via Bike4Bart will enable the Andrew Simpson Foundation to continue to reach out and engage with young people around the world to develop their life skills and capabilities by making sailing and watersports accessible, creating a hobby and passion for life.”Sir Ben Ainslie CBE, founding trustee of the Andrew Simpson Foundation
