International Women's Day 2018
International Women's Day is a time to celebrate the amazing achievements of women globally. We can also use this time to support women in abusive situations and recognise there is still more to do.
Story
Whilst women have more rights than ever it is important to remember:
- 2 women a week are still murdered at the hands of their current or former partners in England and Wales.
-1 in 5 women aged 16 - 59 has experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 16
- 1 in 5 women will experience stalking at some point in their lives.
Charities working in the Violence Against Women sector are inadequately funded and struggle to meet the needs of their clients. Your support can really make a difference to the lives of women being abused.
