About Us

A group of passionate parents founded Autism Plus 30 years ago.  They wanted the very best for their children, who all had autism.  Their children had all grown up together in a specialist school, but now approaching adulthood there was nothing to help them.  So together the parents established a small community for their children, who were all close friends,to live together.  Over the years, more and more friends joined them, and so 30 years later we have become one of the leading charities in Yorkshire for supporting peoplewith autism and complex conditions.

Why help us?

Providing support to people with autism and complex conditions is expensive.  Providing help and support accounted for over 93% of our income last year.   With an estimated 1 in 100 people having an autism spectrum condition, there are lots more people we could we support.  But we need resources to do this.  Your help through the #Challenge30 appeal can make that difference.
