Story
We rushed him to our vets and then on to a veterinary hospital. The x-ray worryingly showed a fractured vertebra. We don’t know what really happened, but using the vet’s experience of seeing injuries of all kinds, it is most likely that he was kicked violently in his stomach.
Amazingly, Tommy has no nerve damage so with cage rest and strong pain medication we are hopeful he’ll make a full recovery. The vets have been brilliantly supportive but Tommy’s care and medication will cost us close to £300 per week. With an expected 6 weeks of hospitalisation, we’re looking at a bill of £1,800.Sadly animals that have been abused, injured, or abandoned due to ill health come in to our care daily. We try to save as many as we can. Please donate or fundraise today and let’s get Tommy on the road to a better life.
