New displays, exhibitions and facilities will refresh the Museum and Art Gallery, creating a new museum for Birmingham.

To complement the general upgrade of the building, we will develop a project that improves access, wayfinding and collections care.

But the biggest changes will be to the displays. The museum team will work with community groups and experts to rethink the city’s collection and showcase it in new, exciting ways, attracting the city’s young, multicultural audiences as well as international visitors.

Alongside the Museum & Art Gallery our other sites include Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum and many historic sites around the city all of which have exciting development plans.

As we approach our fifth year as an independent Trust and the start of major capital projects, our challenge is to secure funding for our future developments. A donation to our current appeal, no matter how small, will be gratefully received.
