BAET is a registered charity, that has been set up to benefit those suffering from eye problems in the Bradford and Airedale area, and in particular
- For the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases in the area.
- For research into diseases provided that all useful results of such research is published.
- The provision of equipment (not normally provided by the National Health Service) for the ophthalmic departments of both Bradford Teaching Hospital and Airedale Hospital.
- The provision of aids to visual aids for the blind and partially sighted.
- The education and training of students, Ophthalmologists, Orthoptists, and Optometrists intending to specialise in Ophthalmology.
