Make Change Count - support for homeless men and women. Donate here or text UMCC17 £3 to 70070

Organised by BHT Sussex

The best chance for a homeless person to get off the streets is with professional help. Making sure help reaches homeless people is far more effective than giving money to people on the street.

JANUARY 2018 UPDATE - To date we have had 317 online donations and 104 donations via text. Thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign.

Charities and support organisations are helping homeless people in the city every day of the year 24 hours a day.

Outreach workers are in regular contact with people on the street, caring for their practical needs, such as food and clothing, as well as providing support to help rebuild their lives.

You can help by using Streetlink, one central point of contact, to share vital information when you see someone on the streets. The details will be sent to local outreach workers to look into how best to help: www.streetlink.org.uk or 0300 500 0914

Outreach workers are experienced in supporting people to move away from the streets. Please help us to help others by linking up outreach workers with people on the street.

If you do want to donate, your small change can make a big difference to local homeless charities.    Any money raised as part of this campaign will be shared between the organising charities: St Mungo’s, BHT, Nightstop, equinox, Antifreeze

All money donated will go directly to people sleeping rough and will be used to provide food, access to shower facilities, clothing, support from outreach workers to move people away from the street and a wide range of practical help to suit individual needs. No funds raised will be used for administration of the charities.

The project is supported by Brighton and Hove City Council, Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner and Sussex Police.
