Story

At BBS, we believe that sight loss should not be a barrier to a child being active. Our youth fund enables us to provide opportunities for VI children aged between 4 -16; allowing them to have the same opportunities as their sighted peers.

An example of our work with children is through the distribution of audible balls - or as it's Christmas, "jingle balls"! A jingle ball is a perfect way to introduce a VI child to sport. Having given a number of jingle balls away as part of our pioneering First Steps project (something we aim to continue in 2017), we know how life-changing they can be.

A parent of a recipient of a jingle ball said, "It may seem a simple thing, but to have a ball specifically for him has made a huge difference. He loves it and wants to play with it all the time."

A jingle ball is only £10, so please donate anything you can today towards our Jingle Balls campaign and your money will help us to make a visible difference to a blind child this Christmas.
