Story

Our beautiful organ, situated in the Quire, has recently been refurbished and is now world class. It has to be heard to be believed!

It has 89 stops giving voice to over 6,000 pipes. The stops (ranks of pipes) allow a kaleidoscope of sounds to shine through. We worked with trusted organ builders Harrison & Harrison Ltd and you can view the full specification on our website.

You can still sponsor a pipe, selection of pipes or a stop of the organ at a range of levels; from £50 for pipes in smaller stops to £10,000 for the 32ft pipes reinstated for the first time since the 1970s. Each pipe, from the smallest to the largest has added to this wonderful instrument, enhancing the voices of all who sing within these walls.

Sponsor a pipe and create a lasting link with Canterbury Cathedral. The recipient will receive a keepsake certificate signed by the Dean of Canterbury, recognition in a new dedicated Book of Donors, and an opportunity to hear the organ for themselves.

When making a gift, please indicate any special wording and the size pipe you are sponsoring, either in the comments section of your gift on JustGiving, or by emailing us at fundraising@canterbury-cathedral.org. Thank you.
