Visit the charity's profileThe ‘Own Zone’ is crucial to Young Carers and staff who support them – we hold workshops, activities and one to one meetings at times to suit young people.
Young Carers need a safe environment that will enable them to talk about issues that any adult would struggle with. Such as‘how do I help my mum when depression makes her cry all day? or ‘is my dad going to get better? What will happen to me if he doesn’t?’
Carers Bucks pay for the lease of the 1 floor at their head office in Aylesbury to facilitate the Own Zone rooms. These are decorated in a style that would appeal to Young Carers of all ages.
The Young Carers service includes one to one support and targeted group work. During planned interventions we ask Young Carers to discuss quite difficult subjects and share their thoughts and feelings.
