Story

The funds raised by our wonderful team of cyclists will make a huge difference to CHECT's work. As Rb is a relatively rare cancer families can feel  isolated and alone - CHECT aims to provide information and support to everyone affected by Rb. Here are some ways in which the funds raised by the team's pedal power will be put to good use this year:

- CHECT support workers: from pre-diagnosis, during clinics and then beyond, our support workers are there to provide help, information and a listening ear.

- 2017 Family Weekend: 2017 is our 30th anniversary and we’ll be celebrating with an extra special weekend event in October with around 50 of our families (c.200 people). An opportunity for children and teenagers affected by Rb, their siblings and parents to spend quality time with others who really understand what life is like with Rb.

- Teen events: a chance for teenagers affected by Rb to get together, offer support, understanding and friendship to one another.

On top of this, our helpline is available during working hours, our website is always there and our closed user groups on social media provide invaluable peer group support.

All of this is made possible by our hardworking fundraisers and kind donors and we are grateful for every penny!
