Bangladesh has only one Special Needs School known as the Protibondhi Foundation, the school provides intensive life-skills education for severely disabled children who are from poor families with the aim to make them as independent as possible. 

Most families in slums live below the poverty line and their income does not allow for additional expenses such as carers, transport and special needs school, on top of this disabled children in Dhaka have no access to life outside their homes, they are often left alone as parents and mostly single mothers do not have the extra funding for this facility. Social out goings give disabled children the opportunity to enjoy and explore life outside their homes, it is essential for their wellbeing and happiness to be able to have trips.

Special needs education is essential for teaching disabled children to maintain an independent life as much as possible. Opportunities to have access to special needs schools for disabled children living in slums are extremely rare. 

The Protibondhi Foundation have offered Children's Hope places at their school, we need a rickshaw van, driver and a carer to get the children to school, please help us get them there.
