Human trafficking involves recruiting, transporting or holding a person by use of threats, coercion or deception to exploit them. It is often described as a form of modern day slavery. Many victims are trafficked into domestic servitude, prostitution, pornography, agricultural and building labour, manufacturing, forced begging and organ removal.
Shockingly, the Government estimates there are 10,000 – 13,000 victims of slavery in the UK.
This appalling trade denies people dignity, future and hope. CARE seeks justice for those exploited - raising awareness and working with parliamentarians for changes in the law to tackle demand, punish traffickers, protect and support victims - especially children.
Please stand with us against human trafficking in the UK and sponsor our challenge.
