With support from fundraising undertaken by the Petrucci family, CHUF have sponsored a Snow Dog as part of St Oswald’s Snow Dog trial in Sunderland.

Luna the Snow Dog has been out on the trail raising awareness that the Children’s Heart Unit is one of only two hospitals in the UK that perform heart transplants and that the Freeman Hospital cares for children from all parts of the UK.

CHUF's snow dog is named Luna after a very special little girl Luna Petrucci, was born with two congenital heart defects in her heart.  Luna was expertly cared for by the Children’s Heart Unit team at the Freeman Hospital and her family have gone on to raise an incredible amount of money to support the work of CHUF.

Our mission is to make life better for children and young people born with, or who develop, heart conditions. Please help us bring Luna the snow dog to join the amazing Children's Heart Unit team and to add a little joy to the play area on Ward 23. Please give generously.
