We support the families of children in the north east Essex area with type 1 diabetes. We facilitate families to get together at organised events to support each other through their diabetes journey. The events include educational events, sporting events, fun parties and production of informative literature for families within the Colchester Hospital diabetes service.

Providing support for families is imperative to coping with the chronic long-term condition type 1 diabetes in childhood and adolescence. It is important for families to receive support at diagnosis, share experiences, and form long-term friendships, from families in similar situations. It is the charities main aim to facilitate the formation of these supportive networks.
