The Community Heartbeat Trust helps communities undertake defibrillator projects taking into account the needs for the right equipment, the right support, the right adherence to liabilities and governance, community awareness and training programmes, and help with the fund raising and long term support for these projects. As the leading community defibrillator charity in the UK, we have become recognised by ambulance services, councils, community groups and sports governing bodies as the 'gold standard', having set many of the standards now being adopted by other organisations. We live, breath and are hugely passionate about community defibrillation in all its forms, and seek always to offer a holistic and objective advice to communities. We believe a defibrillator is for LIFE and not just for Christmas, and these medical devices should be available to save lives. But they are just that, a medical device, and must be treated with respect. A good project is not about just a defibrillator in the community, but one that forms part of a resilient process, addressing needs, and fully backed by Governance. www.communityheartbeat.org.uk

Story

Over the past three months two close family members have suffered massive heart attacks whilst both playing outdoor Bowls. My brother in law’s life was in no doubt saved by the use of a nearby community defibrillator. Tragically, my sister in law's father did not survive his heart attack. Hopefully with your help and support one of the defibrillator’s will be placed at Lady Margaret’s Bowling Club. The second defibrillator will be a Public Access defibrillator, which will be situated at 9 St John Street and will service the local business community through the ambulance service. The Third will also be a Public Access defibrillator placed in Chester

Approaching my 50th Birthday I decided to make a bucket list of activities which would be both challenging and rewarding, something I could be truly proud of and at the same time help raise funds for a worthwhile course.

My first challenge was to complete the National Three Peaks within twenty four hours, which I successfully completed on the weekend of 1 July 2017. I have set myself a further walking marathon which will involve walking the full length of Hadrian’s Wall on 29 September in three days. I will be walking 28 miles a day to complete the full length of 84 miles.

From a personal point of view, it will be my mum's fourth anniversary since she passed away in August and playing Bowls with her friends was something she enjoyed so much. I know my mum will be with me on my walks encouraging me all the way.
