Story

Chalfont St Giles Village School are in need of funds to support with purchasing resources to support our enriched curriculum, new interactive white boards and books to further support our planning and delivery of the Power of Reading. We are proud of the wide ranging and stimulating curriculum we offer. It is broad and balanced and it promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils. It prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. In order for us to maintain our standards and resource these enriching experiences and high quality learning we need to continue to invest. We want our children to be successful and happy learners and we know that our enriched curriculum allows this to happen. Interactive whiteboards are a powerful and excellent tool. They can be used in many different ways; Allowing the children to share their work, build rockets made from shapes and create sentences. The boards allow information to be shared and absorbed in a multitude of ways, as well as creating group discussion. The Power of Reading is a highly successful reading program designed to support schools in raising engagement and attainment in reading and writing for all pupils. The books and resources ensure that the children explore and develop core skills in order to become a successful reader and writer. At our school we want to continue to develop our vibrant reading community. Each of the classes will be undertaking a sponsored walk on the 5th May. Please feel free to donate to these pages or to the campaign page directly.  Please also note if any parent would like to fundraise for this campaign themselves they are very welcome to set up a fundraising page. If you decide to make a fundraising page, please also check whether you receive corporate matching through work as we are a registered charity.  All donations will be gratefully received small or large.
