The passion behind the Kickstart Fund came from what we now call Jack’s Story. Through working with CXK, Jack took part in the Prince’s Trust Programme and successfully secured an apprenticeship as a trainee chef with a local catering company. In order take on this exciting opportunity Jack needed to purchase chefs tools at a cost of £200. Sadly, Jack had no means to pay for the equipment himself and had no one to turn to for support of this kind so he advised his Team Leader that he was at a ‘dead end’ with nowhere to turn. The Team Leader concerned took the initiative to email a number of businesses in the area to appeal for funds to cover theses costs for Jack, and the very next day, a cheque for £200 was received from an anonymous donor allowing Jack to start on the career path he dreamed of. As a result, the Kickstart Fund was born. Here at CXK we want to help more young people like Jack to progress to a brighter future.
