Myla has found a 10/10 match! Please read her journey on how she got there!
MYLA’S STORY
On 8th December 2017 we received the devastating news that our beautiful daughter, Myla-Mae has aplastic anaemia, a rare disease which means she has a deficiency in her red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
From having a calendar that was filled with ballet, gymnastics and swimming, all the things a four-year old girl loves, we now have a calendar that is filled with appointments for blood and platelet transfusions. These are only a temporary solution though as Myla’s doctors have told us that she needs a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately her baby brother isn’t a match and so a global search is now on, to try and find a suitable, matching donor.
We are supporting DKMS, a charity that raises awareness and registers selfless people who might one day be prepared to donate their blood stem cells and save the life of other patients like our gorgeous Myla. In the last five years, they have registered 330,000 people in the UK, but they need funding on a continued basis, so they can sign-up more people – any money that you are able to donate in support of Myla will go towards the cost of funding registrations and saving lives.
Thank you.
