On the 4th May I will be begin a journey of a lifetime walking (carrying everything) across the Pyrenees mountains to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. This is 1000 year old, 500 mile pilgrimage on foot which will take me 6 weeks of walking. Some of the terrain will be very testing with a number of climbs of over 1000m. I have been training for this for a year now.

I will be raising funds to support one of Derby City Mission's key projects, the Jubilee Project. The project aims to support people at a vulnerable stage of their lives when financial concerns become overwhelming. Clients are drawn from local communities and from single, family, migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds but all have multiple and complex needs in common. They are given immediate practical help and food assistance at their point of crisis in the safe environment of our weekly sessions. Friendships develop as long term support is given to help clients move forward in their lives.
