Story
Simbai is a remote village in the western highlands of Papua New Guinea (PNG), where a small church building caters for a scattered population of some 25,000, most of whom are Anglican Christians.
They have very little materially, but an enormous enthusiasm for God and His mission; a commitment to faithful worship and to one another; a desire to learn new skills; and a vibrant memory of a missionary bishop (David Hand from Norfolk) striding amongst them and establishing church communities.
Through the Bishop’s Lent Appeal in 2018, we want to help build up the church and this community, enabling them to further their mission through:
- extending their small church building
- enabling youth work
- resourcing people
