Yawajeewa is a special school in Negombo for children unable to access mainstream education, a place that celebrates each and every child's unique gifts.

Some of these children come from very disadvantaged backgrounds and came to school daily with empty stomachs and did not eat until lunchtime; we knew we could change that and since December 2016 via Breakfast Club we have provided every single child with a hot breakfast every single day. Attendance and performance has increased and the children are able to reach their full potential.

Dogstars team are extremely proud to work with with the amazing staff and children at Yawajeewa and have set up the first of our "Pupstars"  animal care club at the school teaching the children how to care for and be safe around dogs and cats.
