Story
“Thank you so much for teaching me skills that I will use for the rest of my life” – Harry
“We will take all our experiences learned from you in our future life. We can make the world a better place.” – Sam
Countryside Skills is a unique opportunity for children to learn through nature. Offered by Earth Trust as a ten week course, children with special educational needs and those who struggle with the traditional classroom environment, have the opportunity to gain a GCSE equivalent skills based qualification whilst learning outdoors on the Earth Trust Farm.
Countryside Skills is an Open College Network accredited course which empowers young people, boosting their confidence and self-esteem by teaching them practical, hands-on, outdoor skills. By achieving a Countryside Skills qualification, not only does it open up new career opportunities to children whose previous choices might have seemed limited, it raises their aspirations and self-belief, helping them to aim high.
We need your help to increase access to and resources for this fantastic course, inspiring and empowering more children from all backgrounds across Oxfordshire.
