Why are we doing it? 

As a Charity, we deliver services such as Well-being advice, physical and mental health support and end of life care.  We can only continue to maintain and grow our services by fundraising.  We need to raise £1m this year. Fundraising to boost our services is critically important for now and in the future - supporting future generations as the population ages. Our inspirational staff save lives and make a real difference to  people like Arthur, a resident at Lark Hill Village, who says:  ‘Our Well-being Advisor assessed my condition told me to see my GP as soon as possible – she said my blood pressure was far too high. I was sent to hospital and had a pacemaker fitted urgently.  My GP said that without ExtraCare’s help I could have died”.  

What are we doing? 

As part our of 30th anniversary year fundraising campaign, we have set ourselves the challenge of completing the Wolf Run. This is a 10k wild run, involving mud pits, trail running, swimming and a range of challenging obstacles. This will be a true test of teamwork and steely determination; all the time knowing that we are doing this to make a huge difference to older people's lives. The values and ethos of the Wolf Run mirror those of ExtraCare with our one team working, a focused end goal, and loving the challenge of the finish line.

What are we called? 

Our pack is ‘The ExtraCare Warriors’.     

Who is running? 

Currently 45 of us – comprised of a number of staff from Head Office, locations and friends/family. We are joined by one of our residents as well as some of our Executive team. We range from active gym goers to near novices. We are also joined by our friends from the Coventry Building Society who have selected us as their charity partner.
