Story
THANK YOU from Beau and all the staff at Ferne, we are completely blown away by the kindness and generosity shown by our fantastic supporters. Thanks to you Beau will be able to receive the veterinary care and therapies he so desperately needs.
However, whilst Beau is exceptional, he is not alone. Ferne's annual veterinary bill comes to £100,000 every year as we ensure all our animals, big and small, receive the care they need to live long and happy lives here at the sanctuary.
Beau recently arrived at Ferne, just one of the many animals we help day in day out. We are asking for your help to give him the life-changing care he needs, here is his story...
“I was brought to Ferne after my owner could no longer care for me. My coat was all matted and dirty, my ears infected and inflamed, my nails were terribly overgrown, and I also had difficulty walking.
Due to my condition, the Animal Care team had to give me urgent attention, cutting my hair, clipping my nails and giving me antibiotics and painkillers. I felt much better but, even with all their help, I still couldn’t walk properly so the vet had to be called in to see me.
The vet gave me a full examination and I was found to be suffering from severe hip dysplasia in both my hips, which will require surgery when I’m fit enough. Because I’ve had very little exercise my muscles are all wasted, so I will need physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to build them up before the operations can be performed.
Please give generously as Ferne really needs your support to fund my therapies and ongoing care."
All funds raised by this appeal will be used to finance Beau’s veterinary care and therapies. Any excess monies raised will be used to help fund veterinary care across the Sanctuary.
