For several months a year, Ramkali would struggle to put food on the table & was faced with the prospect of being unable to feed her children. When her husband was forced to leave the village to find work, she was left to cope alone.
Ramkali is from Baijapur, a remote village in Nepal where many of the men are forced to migrate to Kathmandu. When the earthquakes struck in April, some women lost their husbands & along with this any security they once had.
Find Your Feet runs a support group for local women in Baijapur that provides training in sustainable farming & teaches the women how to make the most of the limited resources available to them.
“We now have a much better harvest. We grow more food and know that our children will no longer have to go hungry.”
In 2016, we want to reach even more families in India, Nepal, Malawi & Zimbabwe. £500 could provide training in sustainable farming to 38 women in Nepal so they can grow more food.
