This is Varvara, the last remaining circus tiger in Bulgaria.

Organised by FOUR PAWS

She has spent her entire life trapped in a tiny cage, forced to perform in the circus. Thankfully we were able to reach an agreement with her owner allowing us to rescue her. But we need your help.

FOUR PAWS is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them. Our vision is a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding.

Story

Varvara’s torturous performances finally ended when a ban on keeping wild animals in circuses was introduced in Bulgaria this January.

But her suffering wasn’t over. Her owner couldn’t give her a suitable home. Locked in a cage on the back of a circus wagon, she was hardly able to move. Until now.

Will you make a donation today, to help us care for Varvara?

Varvara will be cared for by our team of experts at the Tierart Big Cat Centre, and for the first time in her life she will have space to roam and be free.

But caring for Varvara will be expensive. It will cost £20 a day to feed Varvara. £7,300 a year.

And as public pressure mounts to end the keeping of wild animals for entertainment, we MUST maintain our sanctuaries and rescue centres, so we can give these majestic animals a home for life.

Please will you make a gift to Four Paws to help us maintain our sanctuaries and give Varvara the life she deserves? Every donation counts.

Thank you so much for anything you can give.
