But her suffering wasn’t over. Her owner couldn’t give her a suitable home. Locked in a cage on the back of a circus wagon, she was hardly able to move. Until now.

Varvara will be cared for by our team of experts at the Tierart Big Cat Centre, and for the first time in her life she will have space to roam and be free.
But caring for Varvara will be expensive. It will cost £20 a day to feed Varvara. £7,300 a year.
And as public pressure mounts to end the keeping of wild animals for entertainment, we MUST maintain our sanctuaries and rescue centres, so we can give these majestic animals a home for life.
