The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileWithout appropriate treatment bleeding disorders, like Haemophilia, cause extremely painful internal bleeds into joints and tissue. Over time they cause serious damage to joints and increase the risk of death. The World Federation of Hemophilia reports that without treatment "many people with hemophilia die before they reach adulthood."
People are born with a bleeding disorders at the same rate all over the world. However, nobody in Malawi has been diagnosed meaning they most are living in pain and with no treatment.
The Malawi Diagnosis Project includes a public awareness campaign to find potential cases. We will provide training in hospitals to help local professionals refer the right people to the Haemophilia Clinics for testing and treatment.
Your money will go a long way on this project. Just £15 could pay for the materials the laboratory in Malawi needs to conduct a single test. However, your donation will be spent to support the whole project.
