The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileHicap would like to help as many families as they can. There are more than 40 families in need of help in villages that we support. So far we have provided temporary cover in the form of the corrugated iron to 23 families, which the families have erected themselves. Although this has given them better cover, it is by all means not a real home! We have commenced on our first house after completing the rebuild of our own house that houses a supported family and our adopted twins.
We need more funding to continue this work. One rebuild costs an approximate amount of 2K. This takes into account the families carrying out most of their own labour.
Hicap works to support 5 schools in the area and also run a sponsorship programme. But we have found ourselves deviating from our normal work. The devastation of the quake has had a real impact on education, many children are very nervous.
Hicap is a small charity that understands the needs of the people in Nepal we are doing all we can to help.
