Story
Kitten season has well and truly arrived, and Holly Hedge is in a state of emergency. Our Sanctuary is overflowing with abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens – 106 at the last count, with an ever-growing waiting list of would-be residents. We’re passionate about protecting all of them, but the effort is non-stop and the bills are mounting for food, emergency medical care, vaccinations, microchipping, neutering and extra staff costs – our ever increasing vet bills alone were in excess of £90,000 last year. This is why we need your help -
Would You Consider Making a Donation to help us help innocent animals like.....
- Olivia who was only eight months old herself when she gave birth in the footwell of a car.
- Four month old Peanut who arrived here with just one eye and was given emergency surgery.
-Grace who was about to be neutered, when it was realised she was already pregnant. She had kittens three days after she arrived here.
- Emily who came in heavily pregnant – a fox had eaten her last litter.
For those of us working at Holly Hedge, these stories are all too common and, when they first arrive, many of our cats are distressed by their experiences. They quickly sense that they are now looked after and safe, but all are desperate to move on to a new and loving home. Until that day comes, we provide for their every need, offering food, warmth and security, medical treatment, vaccinations, micro-chipping, and lots of one-to-one care, attention, cuddles and love! Providing shelter from harm and the promise of a brighter future is at the core of our existence and we strive to help every animal that comes our way. But passion, commitment and physical effort just aren’t enough. Without any government or lottery funding we rely solely on the kind help of our supporters. So please we beg of you to help us in this time of need, your money can help save a kittens life today and help keep our sanctuary doors open.
