Project - To replace Whoopsie Away Machine and add new Sluice Room
Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary houses up to 40 dogs and 100 cats at any one time and is completely independent and self funded.
Our current Whoopsie away machine for dog and cat waste is no longer compliant with today's health & Safety standards, becoming dangerous for the staff and volunteers to use and 2 weeks ago finally gave up for good. Over 15 years old, its not surprising! but with repair costs escalating we have been advised by the servicing engineers that the machine must now be replaced.
The machine itself is currently housed in a timber store that is also on the verge of collapse, and in addition to this we also struggle with no sluice room on site that is suitable for the cleaning of contaminated items such as dog beds, litter trays etc with staff currently standing outside areas in all weathers with hand brushes and buckets of disinfectant (photos attached).
Our aim is to install build a new timber housing area with the new Whoopsie away and sink units, essential to prevent disease. Having consulted proffesional advice we have received the following quotes: Sluice Room - £4410.00 Whoopsie Away machine - £4799 Total Project Cost: £9209 incl VAT
We are in a critical time at Holly Hedge with funds desperately needed to fund increasing medical bills and support so many displaced and homeless Dogs & Cats. To find such a large amount to replace our machine is impossible and we desperately need help to do this as soon as possible to ensure we are providing the best possible care to all of our residents.
We would be so grateful for any help you can provide. Thank you in advance.
