Story
Please support the charity's work in the South West. Horatio’s Garden opened in Salisbury in 2012. Designed by Cleve West, it is a place of peace and tranquillity for patients to share with their family and friends.
There are a variety of events and activities in the garden, including sculpture exhibitions, live music, garden therapy, artists’ residencies and afternoon tea with delicious, home-baked cakes.
Patients spend a long time in hospital following a spinal cord injury and it can be a very difficult time. There has been much evidence that gardens and gardening have a positive effect on a person’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Having an inspiring outdoor haven is particularly crucial for people impacted by spinal injuries. The beautiful sanctuary of Horatio's Garden also offers social support to patients and their loved ones through our community of staff and volunteers.
Horatio's Garden Salisbury is at the Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre which cares for patients from across the south and south-west of England.
