Story
The Hosking Houses Trust embodies Virginia Woolf's ideal and gives women writers a stipend and somewhere peaceful to write: Church Cottage in Clifford Chambers, a mile away from Stratford-upon-Avon. We will be happy to host men once national statistics show that the sexes have parity of pay.
I have been Chair of this tiny charity for almost a decade; in January we achieved our 50th writing residency since 2002. But it was always our intention to host visual artists and composers, and we are seeking to raise £20,000 in order to build a light-filled studio extension (on the spot where I'm standing in the photograph).
I ran the 26 mile Prague Marathon on 3rd May 2015 in 4hrs 47mins.
To date (5th June) we have received over £2,900 via Just Giving, and a further £2,100 from other sources. This is a good start to reaching our eventual target of £20,000.
Please give as generously as you dare and help our vision to become a reality.
