On Sunday 7th October 2018, a team of Hospice of the Valleys fundraisers will be running the iconic Cardiff Half Marathon.  The aim is to raise money  to provide a week of clinical support at the Hospice Day Centre, helping Hospice of the Valleys’ dedicated Nursing and Family Support Teams to continue to provide the exceptional care and support to patients and their families who need it most in Blaenau Gwent.   

Show your support for them by setting up your own fundraising page and helping them reach their target. You could hold a bake sale, organise a raffle or host a quiz in the workplace.

Every penny raised will go to support the services we provide; 

Hospice At Home - Where patients and the families will receive care and support at home during the night, enabling the patient's carer and families to have a good nights sleep.  

Day Centre Services - Various clinics run on different days, such as breathlessness management, wellbeing programmes, Cariad (Dementia project) and where patients can also come to outpatient appointments.  A chance for patients to meet and socialise together and also the opportunity to meet in private with our doctor, nurses or social workers.  Treatments are available from our physiotherapist and complementary therapist. 

Family Support Team - Patients and their families can receive support and advice on welfare rights, power of attorney and bereavement support. 

Specialist Pallative Care Team - Supporting patients and families with their end of life care packages at home and also at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan Hospital in Ebbw Vale. The Hospice of the Valleys is the specialist pallative care provider for YAB.

Last year the Hospice supported over 600 patients with our free of charge services, costing over £1.4million.  We are faced with an ever increasing demand for our services and that's why we need your support to help us fundraise to continue this exceptionally good work.
