Story
Building good relationships and working partnerships between people of different faiths and beliefs is vital to a flourishing and harmonious shared life in the UK today.
Having a special Week helps draw more people of all ages and backgrounds into this through activities arranged by hundreds of organisations such as schools, faith groups, local authorities, police and fire services, hospitals, sports clubs, youth organisations, libraries, museums and more. The Inter Faith Network leads on the Week: helping to coordinate publicity providing resources and assistance.
The three aims of the Week are:
- Strengthening good inter faith relations at all levels
- Increasing awareness of the different and distinct faith communities in the UK, in particular celebrating and building on the contribution which their members make to their neighbourhoods and to wider society
- Increasing understanding and cooperation between people of religious and non-religious beliefs
