LIN is a non profit organisation. A dedicated team from different areas of the UK, working to find the right homes for Labradors & Lab Crossbreeds that find themselves looking for a new family. We are a foster based rescue & rely on the kindness of volunteers & donations to help with vet bills.

Story

Labradors In Need was asked to help Aggie, and she came into long term foster. We will do whatever we can to help her live her life as normal, and for as long as possible. An appointment was soon arranged with a cardiologist where it was found that she had moderate pulmonic stenosis. This means that the valve that controls blood leaving the heart to the lungs is narrower than it should be. This causes the heart to pump harder with the increase in pressure. Her heart is enlarged and the walls of her heart are thicker. Her second ECG has shown that the condition is now severe and the narrowing is significantly worse. This means that a balloon valvuloplasy is the only option to give her a chance of survival. She is at risk of heart failure and although ultimately her condition is life limiting, this operation will give her more time to enjoy life. She's only 7 mths old but full of character! She's mischievous and fun loving. She greets everyone with a wagging bum and makes all smile. She is a little ray of sunshine that deserves to shine brightly for as long as possible.   On the 8th March Aggie had an ecg done at Pride Veterinary Hospital in Derby. Unfortunately, her condition is now severe and she is at risk of heart failure. She has been prescribed beta blockers to slow down her heart rate but she now needs to have surgery. She is being referred to another specialist for this to be carried out. Aggie's condition is already life limiting but without the surgery to help widen the valve, her life expectancy is considerably reduced with heart failure expected. This vet bill was £1,300 and we are enormously grateful to all of you who have donated already. The surgery she needs is estimated to be about £4,000 and we feel she is worth every penny. She is the most amazing puppy, full of character and courage, as well as mischief and mayhem, and she just loves everyone she meets. We all love her too and hope that you can help us in any small way to help her.
