Story

Electric Profiling Beds are digitally controlled multi-position beds, which can be simply operated either by staff or patient; making moving position easier, with less risk of pressure sores to patients and reduced risk of injury to staff. The beds have bases in four sections to achieve various positions whereas the current manual beds are hydraulic, operated by a foot pump, with a flat base and a manual pull-out backrest. Electric Profiling Beds enhance the quality of life for the patient,  enable faster recovery from illness, increase patient user independence and reduce other potential complications. Each Electric Profiling Bed with a mattress costs £2,500 so we need £250,000. Thanks to generous legacies, we already have £150,000 and now we need your help to raise the final £100,000.

About the charity

We fund additional equipment and facilities for those using Musgrove Park, including emergency accommodation for families. We celebrated 60 years as a charity in 2019 and donated £300,000 towards the Bracken Birthing Centre alongside many other large and small items of equipment.
