Our vision is for a world in which every mitochondrial disease patient has a voice and access to treatment, support to improve their life and, ultimately, a cure.

Story

London Landmarks Half Marathon is a brand-new half marathon through Westminster and the City. Did you know every day in the UK a baby is born who will develop mitochondrial disease? Each member of Team Lily will be running for them and the 10 million people in the UK who suffer from diseases in which mitochondrial dysfunction is believed to be involved. This disease is debilitating, there is no cure and lives are cut far too short.  The Lily Foundation's aim is to one day find a cure for mito.  As the UK's leading charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease, our mission is to support people whose lives are affected by the condition, raise awareness and fund research into its prevention, diagnosis and treatment.     This is a far from average half marathon! It will celebrate London’s wonderful culture and heritage; runners and spectators will discover London’s ‘quirky & hidden’ secrets. Mile markers will reveal quirky facts, from London’s biggest grasshopper to where the bowler hat. Experience Roman themed water stations and be cheered on by suffragettes at the London Landmarks Half Marathon.  Please support our 2018 London Landmarks Team and together we will make a difference.
