At Making The Leap, we improve the lives of children and young people from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds across London by improving their access to opportunities and helping them to develop the skills, behaviours and outlook to succeed in education, work and in life. Last year we supported 6755 school children and young people across London.
Our project - The Romeera Foundation which currently supports us has committed to making a further grant of £10,000 if we can secure matched funds. So far we have received a donation of £2,000 towards the £10,000, so we are looking to raise the remaining £8,000.
If we can raise the matched funds, the £20,000 donation would support 15 young people aged 18-25 from social and economically disadvantaged backgrounds across London to benefit from ACE, (Aspirations, Careers, Employability), our specialist personal development, life skills and careers project.
Through our project, we will raise the aspirations of young people, improve their confidence and equip them with vital skills to succeed. We will also support young people to progress forwards into meaningful employment, with a focus on roles at top companies in various sectors, the types of roles which they otherwise would not have access to. These roles will enable the young people to develop a career and be on a path to fulfilling their potential.
We will empower young people to believe in themselves, provide them with the tools to overcome their circumstances and help them to become all that their talent and hard work will allow them to be.
Our project will take place over 12 months and will be delivered by our experienced and enthusiastic team at our training centre.
'I will always be in awe of how much Making The Leap has impacted my life!' Sameeha, who attended our ACE project in 2017 and is now working as an Editorial Apprentice at The Telegraph.
Please help us to change more young lives. Thank you.
