Magic Bus enables some of the world's poorest families to move out of poverty. Through the use of a mentoring model and a sport-based curriculum, it engages children and ensures that they make the right choices so that they have a constructive journey from childhood through to livelihood.

Story

Following the death of her father 11 year old Nasiya Banu from Mysore, Karnataka dropped out of school to help care for her four younger siblings. In India only 68% of children attend primary school regularly. Following Magic Bus intervention Nasiya is back at school now and learning well. She takes a keen interest in studies and wants to be a teacher. At Magic Bus sessions, she has learnt that education is a very important resource for her to have in life and for her future.

Funds raised from the appeal can change the lives of children like Nasiya in communities Magic Bus  has yet to reach by;

  • Training new Community Youth Leaders to engage children and their families from marginalised communities to join the Magic Bus programme
  • Launch programmes in more rural areas where access to education is limited
  • Fund our community teams who work with local schools to deliver the programme
  • Change the lives of children improving their health, education and social development
