The Manor Gardens Welfare Trust has had a long and productive history serving the residents of North Islington since 1913. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities facing systemic and intersectional barriers by delivering accessible, inclusive, trauma-informed, and person-centred support tailored to their unique needs.

Story

All year round Manor Gardens works with older people who can't get out and about, befriending them and matching them up with voluteers who visit and ring regularly.

We support people who have had a stroke and enable them to play a full part in our local community.

We work with refugees and newly arrived communities to ensure they have information and support to live healthily and safely.

We help people talk about mental health and reduce the stigma, as well as finding out about what help is on offer.

We give children aged 2-5 the best start in life in our outstanding Preschool.

Clara has had a Friendship Network befriender for years. 'The things my befriender taught me about the computer,' she says. 'I'm glued to it! I can connect with my family abroad.'

One stroke survivor said: 'I really enjoy coming to Stroke Club. There are lots of activities on offer. It is always nice to get out of the house and talk to people. You get a chance to get things off your chest which is very good.'
