Story
In 2014 a national paper published an article lamenting "why is there still so little diversity in the British media?" The consequences of this problem are clear: it creates an absence of role models in the media for diverse young people, it leads to the under-reporting of stories, it risks inaccurate media portrayals of minority communities.
These problems must be tackled, and London360 is one successful program doing exactly this. Producing a fortnightly TV show, London360 gives opportunities to talented young Londoners from diverse backgrounds to gain on-the-ground skills and confidence for a career in media. Since 2009, 80% of London360 reporters have found paid work within the industry.
