Story
The Millwall Community Trust DS Lions is a new and growing community team for youngsters in South London with Down's Syndrome.
Centred at Millwall, the group trains regularly at the ground and is a perfect way for youngster with Down's Syndrome to have fun, build friendships and gain really meaningful experiences from participating in sport.
DS Lions has already taken part in two football tournaments this year - at Fulham training ground, and at their first ever national tournament in Birmingham, where they took on the likes of Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
The boys and girls loved their days out, and and have developed a real hunger for competitive events. Millwall Community Trust wants to help take this further and develop two teams - one Junior team for under 16s and one Senior team for those 17 years and above.
On Thursday, September 28th we will host our first ever gala evening to support our DS Lions, and will be raising funds for them to purchase kit and attend tournaments around the country.
The event will take place at Millwall Football Club, Zanca Road SE16 3IN from 7pm-11pm, and tickets cost £20 each. The evening will include a buffet, disco, raffle and auction - with a special auction for one of our younger DS Lions, Ciara, six, who is currently battling leukaemia.
We would love you to come along and support the group, and have a fun evening for a really deserving group of youngsters.
Your donations will really make a difference.
