<p><span>Alison has been very active throughout her life, even having a career in the fitness industry, which she loved. </span><span>Gradually she began noticing some unusual physical symptoms in her late twenties, such as occasionally falling and tripping, which she dismissed as clumsiness.</span></p><p><span>In her late thirties after years of symptoms progressively getting worse she was referred to Newcastle Centre for genetic testing. </span><span>This then confirmed the news that she had a rare muscle wasting condition called GNE Myopathy.</span></p><p><span>Alison's Ability Family Fund intend to help raise awareness and vital funds for research into this condition and make a difference.</span></p>
