Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity bringing individuals, families and professionals together to beat muscle-wasting conditions.

Story

I’ve chosen to support Muscular Dystrophy UK, because of the experiences of my grandson Enzo.

Enzo was recently diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy aged just four, and I’ve experienced just how devastating the diagnosis is for the family. Hearing that Enzo has a life limiting condition was a complete shock and we had never even heard of Duchenne; it was so much to take in.

I want to help to find effective treatments for this condition to help children like Enzo live full and happy lives. Muscular Dystrophy UK helped us through the process and are there to support families all across the UK.

Muscular Dystrophy UK exists to bring together individuals, families and professionals to fight against muscle-wasting conditions. Muscle-wasting conditions are rare but can have a massive impact on the individuals and families who live with them.

Funds raised by the 41 Club will go directly to support the charity’s Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy causes muscles to weaken and waste over time, leading to increasing and severe disability. The condition affects not only muscles used for movement, but also the heart and vital breathing muscles, cutting lives short.
