Nauka aims to create a degree of financial independence for disadvantaged Zambian women via education/training, business development and advice, and the provision of coaching and mentoring to build self esteem, knowledge and skills. We will use a focus on agri-business to achieve this.

Story

In 2014, plans began to explore how skills, confidence, and self-belief could be passed onto disadvantaged women in Zambia to facilitate a change in their lives and the inevitable knock-on improvement within the lives of their families.  We piloted work with three entrepreneurial women running small scale businesses, but for whom help and support was limited.  We explored basic project development, finance and business planning;  something no-one had previously taken the time to share with them.

This is why Jo, Simon and Amelia Larard are planning to run the Hampton Court Half Marathon.

Simon has completed 3 half marathons in the last 18 months and is going for a personal best!

Amelia's first half marathon.  Her goal is to beat her father...!

Jo did her first half marathon in 2006 when she was young and fit. Since then she has done 2 more. Her first goal is to complete this half marathon. Her second goal is to complete this half marathon with being sick...or fainting!
